Fruitful started as a school project for Food Design at Emily Carr. The project tasked us with creating a product or system for getting a second life out of food waste (post-consumption and pre-composts/recycling/garbage). My focus was on paper wrapping for produce. The product is a small, circular device to make paper coasters and trivets. The coasters and trivets are compostable. The device used a felt gusset to allow for better drainage when pressing the pulp, which means they dry faster too.

This project went on to inform a workshop hosted at MakerLabs. The Writer's Exchange, a Vancouver after school program for inner city children, reached out to partner on a workshop for their participants. The workshop welcomed 20+ children and the adult volunteers to learn how to make paper by using recycled paper products and other craft items.
