This chair was the second design in a company shift towards the inclusion of CNC production. The repeatability and reduction in labour was greatly increased. I added 3D printing to the workflow to reduce time and materials in prototyping, as we could do rapid prototyping at a much smaller scale. Working with the artist from inspiration to the final product, I used SolidWorks to create 3D models for CNC production. To size and determine the orientation of the raw wood pieces (blanks), I used Illustrator to overlay a top-view template.
